Patricia Spoerry

Patricia A. Spoerry, 87, of Adel, passed away on August 25, 2023 at Adel Acres Nursing Home.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 31, 2023 at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home, Adel Chapel. Burial will follow in the Oakdale Cemetery in Adel. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.caldwellparrish.com. Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association to help fight this horrific disease. The family would like to thank Morgan Marean for all the visits, Patrick’s lunches, and most of all the loving care given. They would also like to thank Carter Slater for all the laughs, visits, and battle over the champion of the marble game!

Pat was born on April 29, 1936 in Arnett, Oklahoma to Charles and Nellie (Harmon) Bowles, and moved to Adel, Iowa in 1947. She was first married to Ennis Stevens and had four children; Joyce, Donna, David and Deborah. The two later divorced and Pat married Morris Spoerry and had one daughter, Naomi. Pat spent most of her working years helping people with mental illnesses.

In her free time, Pat enjoyed coloring, and watching birds. She especially loved to see the beautiful red cardinals. She loved animals and her cats. She always had a sense of humor and knew how to play a good prank on family members. She was the matriarch of the family and whatever she said went. She never missed out on the recent gossip and loved her family visits over the years. Pat will be missed greatly by her family and friends.

Pat is survived by her children, David (Vicki) Stevens, Deborah (George) Anderson, and Naomi (Dan) Ebner; sisters, Louise Mague, Fern Stucker, and Rita (Jim) Windust; brother, Andy (Bonnie) Bowles; grandchildren, Daniel (Rebecca) Slater, Erica (Russell) Hall, Stephanie Slater, Jeannene (Jeramy) Marean, Rebecca (Duy) Pham, Jessica Anderson, Matthew Anderson, and Jeffrey Ebner; and great grandchildren, Connor Slater, Michael Slater, Carter Slater, Halie Marean, Morgan Marean, Max Wagner, Maddy Wagner, Daphne Pham, Joseph Anderson, Tasha Anderson, Skyler Anderson, Penelope Phillips, Delaney Ebner, Kaylee Ebner, Cameron Slater, and Bailey Hall.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two children, Joyce Slater, and Donna Wilson; and two siblings, Florence Stucker, and Charles Bowles.
