Patty Akers, 71, of Winterset, died on Monday, April 29, 2024.
Patty Jean (Hager) Akers was born in Winterset, Iowa on May 11, 1952, to Melvin and Lena (Estell) Hager. She was united in marriage to Allen Akers on April 11, 1969 at the Foursquare Church in Winterset. They were blessed with four children, Susan, Jimmy, Billi Jo, and Christopher.
Patty was a lifelong resident of Madison County. She held a variety of jobs in the area including waitressing at Northside Cafe and being a dedicated CNA at Care Center North and South. She also worked at Precision Sewing, Tenex, Fast Track, Git & Go, Winterset Madisonian and read meters for REC. Patty and her husband had a successful mowing business and cared for lawns and cemeteries since 1979.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Allen; children, Susan (Michael) Crowdes, Jimmy (Kimberly) Akers, Billi Jo (Ted) Hartman, and Christopher Akers; grandchildren, Ashley Hill, Kailey (Mickey) Gomez, Chelsey (Chris) Wildt, Madison Crowdes, Danielle Akers, Dakota Akers, Jessica Hartman, Joel Akers, Karlee Akers, Riley Akers; great grandchildren, Taryn, Terrance Jr., Amya, Drake, Izayah and Aniya Hill, Sylar, Royce, Cassius, Mickey, Ariya, Yvette, Damien and Jayden Gomez, and Laiken Wildt; great great grandchild, Za’karii Gomez; and siblings, Bobby Hager and Ron (Deb) Hager.
Patty was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Lena (Estell) Hager; siblings, Phyllis (Chuck) Garrison, Eddie Hager, Larry Hager, and a stillborn brother.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 4, 2024 at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home, Winterset Chapel. Family will greet friends one hour prior, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family for a future designation.
