Paul Arthur Rambow

Paul Arthur Rambow, 95, of Winterset, Iowa, died Friday, August 17, 2012 at VA Central Iowa Health Care System in Des Moines, Iowa. Memorial graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, August 28, 2012, at the Winterset Cemetery in Winterset with Rev. Bob Epperson officiating. The body has been cremated with his cremains being interred in the Winterset Cemetery with military honors. Paul was born on April 11, 1917, at Cherryvale, Kansas to Herbert and Pearl (Brooks) Rambow. He was married on May 4, 1941 at Osceola, Iowa, to Dorothy Maye Sankey. He had been resident of Madison County since 1960. Paul had been a farmer for over 50 years and had served in the U.S. Army during WW II as a paratrooper. Paul is survived by his wife, Dorothy Rambow of Winterset; sons, Paul Rambow of Libertyville, IL, Phillip (Jan) Rambow of Overland Park, KS, and Gordon Rambow of Winterset; brother, George Rambow of Elk Hart, IN; sister, Iva Jean Marzano of Clark Lake, MI; grandchildren, Amy Larsen, Adam Rambow, and Megan Sims; and great grandchildren, Ashlyn Larsen, Arianna Larsen, and Conrad Sims. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Pearl (Brooks) Rambow; brother, Wilbur Rambow; and sister, Ruth Russo. Memorials may be directed to his family for a future designation.
