In his final moments he was surrounded by his family. Paul is preceded in death by his mother June (Cook) Glaser, who he will join in heaven. He is survived by his loving partner of almost eight years Becky Sours, his father Jim Glaser, and his five siblings Jim (Jeanne) Glaser, Martha (Chris) Adams, Mark Glaser, Jon (Cheryl) Glaser, and Phil (Katarina) Glaser. He leaves behind his four children Jessica (Brent) Schenk, Melissa Glaser, Joseph Glaser, and Mary Glaser. He also leaves behind Jake Sours, who was like a second son to him. Paul’s four grandchildren Thomas, Noah, Oliver, and Eleanor will miss him greatly. Paul was born in 1963. As the youngest child in his family, he quickly learned to keep up. When he wasn’t getting into mischief with his brothers, he was usually having his own adventure hoping his sister wouldn’t notice. He had many happy childhood memories and loved his time at Lake Okoboji and Fort Dodge with his large extended family. Paul graduated from Dowling High School in 1982. After high school his career was one of many different skills. He was quite the entrepreneur and had many business ventures. He owned Glaser Audio, was an insurance agent, owned and managed Glaser Lawn Care, and was a car salesman at the end of his career. When Paul wasn’t working he was the life of the party. He was always ready to have fun and he loved making everyone laugh. He was known for his puns, witty jokes, and obscure movie quotes. He had many hobbies in his lifetime including fishing, hunting, and golf. He enjoyed cheering for the Iowa Hawkeyes and Green Bay Packers football teams. He loved helping coach his children’s soccer and baseball teams and treasured his time with his grandchildren. Paul lived a very full life and departed this world worry-free with the final words “Hakuna Matata.” Visitation will be held at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home in Urbandale, Iowa on Wednesday January 6th, 2021 at 9 AM. A prayer service will follow at 10 AM. We would kindly ask that only family attend due to COVID 19 restrictions. A recorded streaming link will be provided for those that cannot attend in person. A celebration of life and funeral will be held at a later date.
