Paul Young

Paul Young, 92, of Des Moines passed away on Friday, July 3, 2015 at Ramsey Village Nursing Home. There will be a celebration of Paul's life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Alzheimers Association. Paul was born in Des Moines on December 30, 1922 to Levi and Grace Young. In 1951 Paul married Rita (Kern) Young. He served in WWII in France and Germany for the United States Army as a Combat Medic for 103rd Infantry. Paul was awarded the Purple Heart for wounds suffered in combat. He operated the Mobil and Standard Service stations on Ingersoll Avenue in Des Moines from 1958-1993. Paul enjoyed old cars and airplanes. He is survived by his wife; Rita, 4 Children; Chris Young, Steven Young, Scott Willie (Daina) Young, and Diane (Fred) Caminite of San Diego, CA, 4 Grandchildren; Jessica, Nicholas, Steven, and Christina, 1 Great Grandchild; Arlo.
