Pauline Marie Paxton was born July 18, 1921, at Clarinda, Iowa to Ray and Minnie (Myers) Paxton. She graduated from Lorimor High School in 1938 and her marriage to Forest David Spencer took place on February 22, 1941 at Logan, Iowa. The couple met when Forest worked as a farm hand for her parents. Pauline was a hard working farm wife and homemaker who raised her brood of six, good but ornery children. Pauline baked pies and bread for her kids lunches and she always had a big garden and did a lot of canning and freezing. She had attended Deer Creek Church and was currently a member of New Bridge Church in Winterset. All this said, Pauline was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother who loved nothing more than time spent with her family. She is survived by three sons, Paul (Sandy) Spencer of Springfield, OH, John Spencer of St Charles, and Mark (Peg) Spencer of Des Moines, two daughters, Mary Spencer of St Paul, MN and Ruth (Don) Taylor of Des Moines; daughter-in-law, Marilyn Spencer of Peru, a brother, Duane (Carolyn) Paxton of Pace, FL and sister-in-law, Lois Paxton of Creston, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, extended family and a host of friends. Pauline was preceded in death by her husband, Forest in 1998 and her son, David in 2015, a sister, Maxine Witt and brother, Dillard Paxton.
