Pearl Dougherty

Pearl will be cremated and there will be no services. Burial will take place in the Richwood Cemetery, Henry County, Iowa near Trenton. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Madison County Hospital, Winterset. Pearl Emma Miller was born September 22, 1915 in Packwood, Iowa; the daughter of John and Lula (Knerr) Miller. Pearl was a homemaker and mother, raising her three children. She later worked for the Army Ammunition Plant in Burlington for 27 ½ years where she worked as an ammunitions assembler. She attended the Church of the Open Bible, was a member of Tops, and loved to read and sew. Pearl died Sunday, October 16, 2011 at the Madison County Hospital in Winterset. She was 96. Pearl is survived by her children, Dora May Mercer of Davenport and Don Dougherty (Jan Carter) of St. Charles; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Miller of De Queen, AR; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Delores Kraft; a grandchild; brothers, Harry, Harold and Jon; and sisters, Lavina, Goldie, and Vida.
