Percy Dawson 'Eddie' - Dallas Center

Eddie Dawson, 91, died Sunday, July 20, 2014 at home surrounded by family. Friends may call after 2 PM Wednesday, July 23rd at McCalley Funeral Home in Adel, where family will greet friends from 5-7 PM with prayer service at 7:00 PM. Eddie was born in Adel and was a WWII U.S. Army veteran who served in the South Pacific. Upon his return, Eddie met his wife, Mary Ann Smith, to whom he was married for 65 years. During his career he was a machinist, truck driver and carpenter by trade. Eddie is survived by his wife, Mary Ann; son Dennis Dawson; daughters, Denise (Vern) Rebik, Debra (Harry) French, and Deanna (Greg) Smith; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and sister, Virginia Thompson. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Iowa. Online condolences may be left on this site.
