Perry Braynard, 77, of Winterset, formerly of Lorimor, died Sunday, October 14, 2012 at the Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, October 18th, at Ochiltree Funeral Service in Winterset. A visitation with family present will be held at Ochiltree Funeral Service from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Thursday with the funeral to follow. Private burial will be held in the Lorimor Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family. Perry was born March 25, 1935 in Fort Dodge, Iowa to Elmo and Dorothy (Underwood) Braynard. He attended school in Dayton, Iowa and later enlisted in the U.S. Air Force serving during the Korean Conflict. Perry married Kay Williams in 1954 and to this union his two children were born. He later married Helen Dolph who preceded him in death and then married Mary Kirk on September 1, 1996. He worked as a meat cutter for many years for several grocers and later worked as a mechanic owning and managing his own Amoco Station in Des Moines. His last work was at Murray Products in Murray where he retired in 1997. Perry is survived by his wife, Mary Braynard of Winterset; a son, Kent (Rozanne) Braynard of Ogden; a daughter, Pamala (Jerry) Granzow of Urbandale; a grandson, Neal Buenz of Edina, MN; and a brother, Roger (Leslie) Braynard of Iowa City. He was preceded in death by his parents; and second wife, Helen.
