Phil Wooderson

Indianola Phil Wooderson, 66, of Indianola passed away on Sunday, April 13, 2014 at Taylor House Hospice in Des Moines. Phil was born on May 8, 1947 in Jamesport, Missouri. He was the son of Avery and Margaret Wooderson. He was a 1965 graduate of Indianola High School. Following graduation, Phil attended Simpson College and later earned his Master's Degree in criminal justice/sociology at Lincoln University in Jefferson City, Missouri. Phil devoted his life to serving at risk youth in Missouri and Iowa, working for various organizations throughout his career. After retiring, he most recently served as an Adjunct Professor at DMACC teaching sociology, criminal justice, and ESL. He is survived by his mother, Margaret, 2 brothers; Paul Wooderson (Mary Lou) and Steve Wooderson (Kathi), 3 daughters; Kim Van Sickle (Kyle), Dana Scheppmann (Tyler), and Alexa Wooderson, 2 grandchildren, and his ex-wife, Glenna.
