Phillip James Pagano passed in the early morning of April 7th from natural causes. He lived a healthy life until the last few days and died peacefully in his sleep. Born in Marshalltown, IA on June 25, 1922, he was the youngest of 14 children. He is survived by his three children, Frank and wife Paula of Clive and Michael A. Pagano and Dina Pagano from Newport Beach, CA; 2 grandchildren, Maria Pagano and Frankie (Jadi) Pagano; 1 great granddaughter, Gianna Pagano; and 3 nephews, Michael J. Pagano, Leonard Pagano, recently deceased, and Charles Pagano, who were like sons to him and countless number of nieces and nephews. He was a WWII vet with 5 air medals and a distinguished flying cross. When returning from service, he became the owner of a large prominent wholesale meat distributor in Des Moines for many years. We were blessed to have had him for the time that we did. He will be remembered for his great outlook on life, his generosity and never a bad word to say about anyone. He truly lived life to the fullest. Services will be held Monday morning at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home & Crematory at 8201 Hickman Road, Urbandale, IA. There will be a visitation at 10:00 and service at 11:00 a.m. A private burial following will be at the Veterans Cemetery in Adel.
