On November 7, 2018, Phylis Jean (Dussing) Macha, 69, of Baxter, Iowa, went to the arms of our Lord after fiercely battling cancer. In her selfless manner, she donated her organs to others, and her body to teaching and research. She is survived by her daughter, AnnaLisa Jean Macha of Des Moines, her son Shawn Thomas Macha and wife Mindi, her grandchildren Brant Thomas and Karli Jo Macha of Atlantic, Iowa, her brothers William Philip Dussing , Colorado, and Nicholas David Dussing, Connecticut, and sister Laurie Dussing LeClerc, Connecticut. Phylis was quick to volunteer to help her community, Girls Scouts, and youth. Her love for her dogs and critters was abundant. Family and friends will miss her joyful spirit and sense of humor. A Celebration of Life will be held at Evangelical Free Church in Baxter, Iowa on Tuesday, November 13, at 5:30pm followed by a light meal and fellowship. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you donate in her honor to your local animal shelter.
