Phyllis Irene Tuhn

Hastings Funeral Home in JEFFERSON is in charge of arrangements for Phyllis Irene Tuhn, 89, formerly of Grand Junction died Thursday March 16, 2020 at Regency Park Nursing and Rehab in Jefferson. Phyllis' family will have a Celebration of Life Service later when the Covid 19 restrictions are lifted. Burial will be in the Jefferson Cemetery next to her late husband William Richard Tuhn. Phyllis Irene Tuhn, daughter of Patrick Mahlon Coil and Grace Mae Rice Coil, was born April 14, 1930 in Jefferson and died March 16, 2020 at Regency Park Nursing and Rehab in Jefferson at the age of 89. Phyllis grew up in Jefferson and attended school there. She then moved to Grand Junction. Phyllis farmed for Leonard Meyers, worked at the Corner Caf, Larry's in Grand Junction and at the Klassie Club. She enjoyed cooking and gardening. Phyllis moved in with her daughter Jean in Jefferson for twenty years, before going to Regency Park over a year ago. She enjoyed having visits from her grandchildren and loved Christmas time. Phyllis is preceded in death by her parents, husband William Richard Tuhn "Dick" (February 10, 1985), son Dick Tuhn, baby daughter Edith Ann Tuhn, brothers: Delmar Coil and Galen Coil, sister Irma Coil, son-in-law Marty Carlson and in-laws Charles and Nellie Tuhn. She is survived by her children: Charles Tuhn of Bouton; Leonard Tuhn, Rick Tuhn, Jack Tuhn, and Barbara Ann Tuhn, all of Jefferson and Jean Tuhn of Grand Junction; daughter-in-law Judy Tuhn of Grand Junction; twelve grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; sister Darlene Bulware of California; brother Howard Coil of Iowa; cousins, nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
