Rachel D. Stanley - Adel

Rachel Diane Stanley of Adel passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Monday, January 26, 2015, at Mercy Medical Center. Memorial Services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 31 at McCalley Funeral Home in Adel with burial at Oakdale Cemetery. Family will greet friends from 9:00 a.m. until services begin. Rachel was born in Albert Lea, MN, on August 18, 1985, to parents Jack and Sheryl Stanley. She lived with her family in Lake Mills, IA, before they moved to Adel in 1987. She attended Ruby Van Meter Opportunity School in Des Moines, graduating in 2006. Some of Rachel's favorite things were listening to music, watching Disney movies, being read to, using sensory equipment and being around other people. Rachel was known and loved by many in her community. She enjoyed attending schools and day programs, where she made many friends, and going to countless ADM Tiger events with family. Rachel will be remembered for her incredible strength, courage, acceptance and unconditional love. She will be greatly missed by all of those touched by her life. Rachel is survived by parents, Jack and Sheryl Stanley; brother, Matt Stanley, and nephew, Mitchell Stanley; sister, Jenny Stanley (Eric Moore) and niece, Cloie Moore; grandma, Joan Stanley; great grandpa Guilford Moore; and many more family and friends that loved her dearly. Rachel was preceded in death by grandparents, Virgil and Elaine Midlang and Virgil Stanley; and cousin Brandon Patterson.
