Randy Allen Clements

Randy Allen Clements, 57, of Adel, Iowa passed away on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at Taylor House Hospice after a long battle with cancer.

Randy was born in Lakeland, FL on January 24th, 1966 to Larry and Sue (Bowen) Clements. Randy met his wife, Tammy, at Haines City Jr High, in 1980.  Randy attended the University of Florida, where he earned his PhD in Food Science and Engineering while he and Tammy were raising their sons. He spent a majority of his life in Florida until he and his family relocated to Iowa in 2008. Randy worked as a senior business analyst with Nationwide Agribusiness.

Randy was a problem solver; he loved taking on challenges and was incredibly strong-willed and passionate about the things he cared about. He had a unique ability to make connections with those around him, whether it was playing Call of Duty with groups of friends, or going to the grocery store. Randy always knew how to talk to people and never met a stranger. Randy loved thought-provoking discussions, and believed strongly in the importance of dialogue with others. He loved teaching himself -- and others -- anything he found interesting. He also loved cooking, grilling, and cheering on the Florida Gators. However, Randy's biggest passion in life was undoubtedly his family. He was an extremely proud father and supportive husband, and cherished any time he got to spend with them. He will be remembered and missed by many.

Those left to cherish Randy's memory are his parents; his wife, Tammy (Moody) Clements; his two sons, Kyle (Morgan Ogg) and Austin Clements; his brother, Bill (Nash Martinez) Clements; and his sister, Patty Hovis; and many other loving relatives.

A memorial service for Randy will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, October 28, 2023 at The Adel United Methodist Church, with family receiving friends one hour prior.
