Randy Snyder, 53, of Winterset died at Mercy Hospice in Johnston, Thursday, May 14, 2015 following a battle with kidney cancer. A visitation with family present will be held from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m., Sunday, May 17 at Ochiltree Funeral Service where a Prayer Service will follow beginning at 6:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 a.m., Monday, May 18 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Winterset with burial to take place at a later date in the St. Joseph Cemetery in Raymond, Iowa. Memorials may be directed to the National Kidney Foundation (kidney.org) (1228 8th St, Suite 103, West Des Moines, IA 50265) and/or St. Joseph Catholic Church in Winterset. Randall Allan Snyder, the son of Wendell and Jeanette (Gielau) Snyder, was born March 15, 1962 in Waterloo, Iowa. He graduated from East Waterloo High School in 1980 and later attended UNI. He married Josephine R. Schmitz on November 19, 1983 at the St. Joseph Church in Raymond, Iowa and to this union three children were born. During his working career, Randy was most proud of founding and managing RA Snyder Consultants, Inc. in Waterloo and Winterset. Randy also enjoyed working as a computer consultant for Warren County and Dell, traveling to Japan, Hawaii, South Korea and throughout the United States. Randy was a member of the St. Joseph Church and was on the board for National Kidney Foundation. He enjoyed traveling on his motorcycle, golfing, relaxing on his acreage and enjoyed a quality cigar. All this said, Randy loved his family and cherished the time he was able to spend with them. He is survived by his wife, Jo Snyder of Winterset; three children, Eric Snyder of Evansdale, David Snyder of San Francisco, CA, and Lynnette (Jayson) Crawford of Vermillion, SD; two grandchildren, Neya and Mya; siblings, Tony (Fran) Snyder of Urbana, Daniel (Deb) Snyder of Dunkerton, Joel (Jill) Snyder of Waterloo, and Wendy (Mike) Castleman of Corsicana, TX; extended family and a host of friends. Randy was preceded in death by his parents.
