A Celebration of Life service for Rayla Jayeen Ryan was held 7:00 p.m. May 6, 2013 at the Christ Lutheran Church in Bouton, Iowa. Visitation was held from 5-7 p.m. Reverend Max Phillips provided words of comfort. Honorary bearers were: Betty Lyn Blades, Heather Nicole Blades, Amanda Mae Cooper, Lukas Dean Cooper, Shelby Kaelyn Ryan, Hailee Shae Ryan, Morgan Lynae Ryan, Taylor Rae Eppert and Konner Gage Eppert. Linda Tingwald was the organist. The congregational hymns were Amazing Grace and When Peace Like a River. Interment took place at the People's Township Cemetery in Woodward, Iowa. Following the service was a luncheon at the Christ Lutheran Church. Hastings Funeral Home in Perry was in charge of the arrangements. Rayla Jayeen Ryan, daughter of Raymond Bryant, Leslie and Lyla Seeman was born on March 23, 1952 in Perry, Iowa and died peacefully surrounded by her family on April 28, 2013, in Des Moines. She lived all of her life in the Woodward area and was a graduate of Woodward-Granger High School in 1970. On April 19, 1975, she married Richard S. Ryan and just celebrated 38 years together. They had one son, Daniel, & daughters, Nicole, Wendy and Ronda. Rayla committed her life to raising a family. She especially enjoyed her grandchildren and her sweet dog Molly. She also enjoyed reading and singing in the church choir. She worked many years for the Dallas County Record/Dallas County News and Northeast Dallas County Record. She retired in 2009 to enjoy more time with her family. She was preceeded in death by her father, Raymond Bryant and her dad, Leslie Seeman. She is survived by her husband, Richard of Woodward, son, Daniel Ryan of Woodward, daughters, Wendy Cooper (Scott) of Dawson, Nicole Ryan (Jason Spracher) of Perry, Ronda Blades (Mike) of Texas, Mother, Lyla Seeman of Woodward, sisters, Lori Carroll, Dawn Bryan, Connie Meier and Toni Huney, nine grandchildren, Amanda Cooper, Lukas Cooper, Shelby Ryan, Hailee Ryan, Morgan Ryan, Taylor and Konner Eppert, Betty & Heather Blades and two great-grandchildren, Storey and Bladen. Rayla was a blessing and will be deeply missed. Her memory will be honored in our hearts forever. www.hastingsfh.com
