Raymonda Pisut

Raymonda Jean Pisut passed away on Thursday September 8, 2022 of natural causes related to AFib. It was the Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Visitation will be held on Monday, September 12, 2022, at St. Augustin Catholic Church in Des Moines from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a Rosary service beginning at 6:30 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, September 13, 2022, at the church. Pisut Funeral Service will be in charge of the graveside service at 10:30 AM, Friday, September 16, 2022, at St. Cyril & Methodius Cemetery in Joliet, Illinois.

She was born on October 2, 1942 to Raymond Theodore and Lois Stuart in Spring Valley, Illinois. She graduated from St. Francis School of Nursing in 1963. She married Emery Joseph Pisut at SS. Cyril and Methodius Church in Joliet, Illinois on August 24, 1963. She graduated from Grandview College with a B.S. in Nursing Administration in 1983 and an M.A. in Nursing Administration from the University of Alabama, Birmingham in 1987. She retired from the Veterans Administration in 2008.

Raymonda is survived by her sons Anthony Pisut and the Rev. Christopher Pisut of Des Moines, Iowa; daughter Gina Pisut, Ph.D. of Mufreesboro, Tennessee; grandsons Jared Shelton and Dominick Shelton; sister Betty Jean Cantwell. She is preceded in death by her husband Emery Joseph Pisut and her two sisters Cheryl Craig and Lorraine Stout.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association—Iowa Chapter or St. Augustin Catholic Church.
