Rebecca Soltanzadeh

Rebecca E. Soltanzadeh, 76, passed away on October 10, 2022 in West Des Moines, Iowa. Becky was born on July 4, 1946 to Ralph Staup and Rosemary Sautter in Toledo, Ohio. She grew up In Blissfield, Michigan, where she had many cherished memories with her cousins. She attended Blissfield High School where she was crowned Homecoming Queen. After graduating from high school in 1964, she moved to Detroit to obtain her nursing degree. She raised her loving family in Des Moines, Iowa where she resided for 46 years until her passing. While raising her two children, Becky obtained her undergraduate degree and Masters of Science in Mental Health at Drake University in 1994.

Rebecca loved to read books, watch college sports, and movies. She especially loved going to the movies with her friends and family. She rarely missed an episode of Jeopardy, and started every morning with a diet coke. Most of all, Becky loved being a mom and a grandma. She cherished visiting her kids and grandkids, whether in Virginia or Chicago. She loved her cats, especially her beloved Emmy. Becky was an avid church goer, and enjoyed being involved in her church group. As a resident of Iowa for over forty years, she has made many lifelong friends.

Rebecca is survived by her loving children Shareen (Mark) Pflanz and Stephen (Nicole) Soltanzadeh; cherished grandchildren Allison(16), Kate(14), Jackson(9), Owen(14) and Oliver(12); brother Todd Staup; sister Judy Billington; and other extended family. She is preceded in death by her parents and brother Mike Staup.

A service will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2022 at 2:30 PM at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home & Crematory, 8201 Hickman Rd., Urbandale, IA.
