Reuben Grace Turner

Reuben Grace Turner, 67, passed away on August 29, 2022. She was born on March 2, 1955 to Reuben and Mozelle “Jones” Cherry in Meridian, Mississippi. Soon after she was born, Reuben and her family moved to Des Moines, Iowa where she lived most of her life. Reuben attended Logan Elementary, Amos Hiatt Middle School and East High School. She worked in the date entry industry for over 40 years at a medical insurance company. During that time she married Michael Turner Sr. on March 7th, 1980.

In her free time, Reuben enjoyed her computer games, drawing, coloring, reading, music and dancing but most of all, she loved her family. Reuben was such a caring and humble woman. She always made sure her children had what they needed. She instilled the root in them that no matter what you do, put God first and always strive to be the best of what you believe in.

Reuben is survived by her children La Shay (Marvin) Washington, Tremayne (Shannon) Cherry, Shyeaka Robinson and Michael Turner Jr.; grandchildren Jazmyne, Mario, Mianna, Tremayne Jr., Romain, Reuben, Olivia; siblings John Miller, Monzelle Miller, Synice McCracken, Tyrod Smith and Carnatta (Dale) Spencer; and beloved nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family. She is preceded in death by her husband Michael, daughter Marshay and brother Christopher Boagard.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 7th from 11:00am – 2:00pm at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home, 8201 Hickman Rd., Urbandale. A graveside service will follow at Glendale Cemetery at 2:30pm.
