Rev. Keith Scott

Rev. Keith Leroy Scott, 82 of Indianola passed away on July 20, 2016. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 P.M. on Monday, July 25, 2016 at the Indianola First United Methodist Church. A reception will follow the memorial service at the church. Keith was born on January 21, 1934 to Clyde and Grace Scott in Marion, Iowa. He was a 1952 graduate of Walker High School. Keith married Evelyn Johnson in 1956. He received his bachelor’s degree from Cornell College in 1956. He then attended Drew University in Madison, New Jersey to receive his masters of divinity and graduated in 1959. He began his career as a Methodist Pastor in 1959 at Nemaha, Iowa. Keith’s last appointment with the Iowa Annual Conference ended in 2002 at Geneseo, United Methodist Church in rural Buckingham. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn; children, Susanna (Myron) Bokemper, Dawn Johnson; grandchildren, Erica Johnson, Brandon Johnson, Nathaniel Johnson, Jessica (Adam) Haight, Erin Bokemper, Daniel Bokemper; great grandchildren, Gage Haight, Alexis Hood; sisters-in-law, June Gellhaus, Lenora Streeter, and Elaine Bowman. Keith is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Betty Louise (Harold) Wagner, Alice Jean (Robert) Bell, Albert (Elaine) Scott; son-in-law, Michael Johnson; sister-in-law, Marilyn Peck.
