Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, May 13, 2022 at the Peru United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family for future designation. Steven Howard Eastman was born in Marshalltown, Iowa on September 17, 1949, the son of Howard and Beulah (Sands) Eastman. In his childhood, he grew up in Evansdale, Iowa and lived in Cedar Falls, Iowa in his teenage years. While in Cedar Falls, he married Debbie Stark and started a family. In 1970, he answered the call of God to be a youth minister at Open Bible Church in Waterloo, Iowa. Steve had such a desire to be a servant of God, he received education from Berean School of the Bible in 1976 and became the Associate Pastor for Glad Tiding Assembly of God in Cedar Falls. From 1977 to current, he pastored the following churches: Van Wert Assembly of God in Van Wert, First Assembly of God in Clarinda, Glad Tidings Assembly of God in Cedar Falls, First Baptist Church in DeWitt, MO, Hale Community Church in Hale, MO, and was currently serving the Peru United Methodist Church. While pastoring, Steve also worked at several other jobs. Between the church and the jobs, he impacted many lives as they did his. Steve always said he loved to fellowship and loved every fellow in the ship. But most of all, Steve loved his family and cherished every moment he spent with them. He loved to be outdoors. He loved to go on walks, write letters and never knew a stranger. He was also a Chicago Bears, Kansas City Chiefs, and Iowa Hawkeyes fan. Above all else, Steve loved serving God. Steve is survived by his children, Steven Eastman, Jr. (Heather), Troy Eastman (Sarah), Tony Eastman (Lora), Kim Eastman-Allen (Darrell), and adopted son, Cody Eastman; brother, Jerry Eastman (Cindy); several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Beulah (Sands) Eastman.
