Reva Elizabeth Dickey, daughter of Posey Green Dulaney and Hattie Duncan Dulaney, was born on September 2, 1917 in La Harpe, Illinois, and died July 11, 2009 at the Long Term Unit of the Greene County Medical Center in Jefferson, Iowa at the age of 91 years, 10 months and 9 days. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday July 15, at the First Baptist Church in Jefferson, Iowa. The Pastor of the church Bob McKnight, conducted the services Reva's honorary casket bearers were Lois Case, Ross Hansen, Charles and Mary Terrill,Eldon and Wanda Dulaney, Her casket bearers were Leonard Dickey, Lee Dickey, Jim Dickey, Jill (Dickey) Roberts, Cale Dickey, Kevin Dickey Hayden Dickey and Phillip Dickey. Janice Adkins played the organ the soloist was Ross Hansen whit the burial in the Jefferson Cemetery, Jefferson, Iowa. Her family moved to Indianola, Iowa when Reva was five years old where her father farmed. In 1939 while living in Dexter, Reva attended Beauty School Des Moines and worked for a time in a salon there. Reva Married Herbert Dickey May 21, 1943 in Redfield, where the farmed their land and Herb's fathers land. The family moved to Jefferson in 1954. In 1958 Reva opened her own salon, "Reva's Beauty Shop" at 210 West Washington St., where she served the community for over 29 years. Reva liked to crochet, plastic canvas and read books. She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Jefferson and supported their missionaries. Reva is survived by her four sons: John Dickey of Horsham, PA; Charles Dickey ( Susan) of Hibbing, MN; Leonard Dickey of Churdan, IA; Lee Dickey of Onalaska, WI; and her daughter Mary Jane Jones of Conroe, TX ; a brother Eldon Dulaney ( Wanda) of TX and a sister Mary Terrill ( Charles) of Perry, IA; also six grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and other family and many friends. Reva is preceded in death by her parents and two brothers Cecil Dale Dulaney and Joseph (Joe) Amos Dulaney. Every one was invited to a time of lunch and fellowship here at the church after the services at the cemetery. Memorial may be sent to Hastings Funeral Home in Jefferson.
