Richard L. Moore

Richard L. Moore, 81 of Adel, passed away Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at Adel Acres Care Center in Adel with his family by his side. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 25, 2019 at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home – McCalley Funeral Home in Adel, with burial following at Oakdale Cemetery in Adel. Family will greet friends Sunday, November 24th from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Richard was born on September 21, 1938 to Walter Dean and Letha (Benson) Moore. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War. He was a self-employed truck driver, owning his own company, R.L. Moore Trucking. He also worked for Freestone Trucking. He enjoyed traveling, fishing and reading Louis L’Amour Western Novels. Richard is survived by his children, Richard L. Moore II, Tina Moore, David Moore, Marty Shepard, Dana Blackburn, Char Jeppeson, Donnie McKean and Chris Settje; lots of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Hospice of the Midwest.
