Mr. Richard Karl (Dick) Miller, 87, well known Jehovah's Witness of Jefferson, died at his home in Jefferson Friday, June 17. Richard Karl Miller, son of Cecil Karl Miller and Grace Lowry Miller, was born February 18, 1929 in Des Moines, IA and died at his home in Jefferson, IA June 17, 2016 at the age of 87. He graduated from Paton High School in 1947. He farmed in the area, drove school bus, and operated a carpet cleaning business along with his first wife Norma. They had 3 children, James, Connie, & Angela. Richard was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in 1959 and enjoyed sharing his faith in the ministry often. He enjoyed his time spent with family and friends. Richard was preceded in death by his parents Cecil and Grace Miller and his first wife Norma. Survivors include his wife Pamela, son James (Robbie) Miller of Lake City, IA; daughters: Connie (Ronnie) Cook of Cadiz, KY; Angela (Lee) Fisher of Nashville, TN; Cathy Bechtel of Boone, IA; Carla Bechtel of Boone, IA; Carol (Dennis) Borsos of Boone, IA; and Cheryl Wilson of Gilson, IL; Grandchildren: Kristi (Seth) Miller of Cedar Falls, IA; Heidi (Erik) Meier of Red Wing, MN; Elizabeth (Ryan) Vitiritto of West Des Moines, IA; Scott Coleman, Cadiz, KY; Leah (Joe) Cacchio of Penryn, CA; Lindsey (Marcus) McGee of Mt. Juliet, TN; Jamie (James) Patton of Boone, IA; Joe Borsos of Boone, IA; Ben (Jenni) Borsos of Boone, IA; Cole Wilson of Gilson, IL; One sister, Linda (Bud) Johnson of Vero Beach, FL and one niece, Dani (John) Negherbon of Vero Beach, FL. Also surviving are Richard and Pam's spiritual family, Todd & Roxanne Muir, Ian & Bridget Johnson, Tyler & Natasha Muir all of Jefferson, IA; 22 great grandchildren & a host of friends. Hastings Funeral Home in Jefferson, IA is in charge of arrangements. (515) 386-8181. A memorial service for Richard will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 16, 2016 at the Greene County High School's Auditorium, located on the South side of Jefferson, 101 Ram Drive.
