Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, August 15 at Kuncl Funeral Home, Crete, NE, with a visitation from 5 to 9 p.m., Sunday, August 14 at the funeral home. A graveside service with military honors will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, August 16 in the Winterset Cemetery, Winterset. Memorials to the family will be appreciated. Richard V. Atkins was born March 7, 1947 to John and Grace (Cooper) Atkins. Richard died Wednesday, August 10, 2011 in Crete, Nebraska. He was 64. He is survived by his wife, Chere of Denton, NE; 3 brothers, John Atkins of Columbus, NE; Tom Atkins of Bartlesville, OK; Jim (Sharon) Atkins of Rantoul, IL; a sister, Sheila Newlin of Tulsa, OK and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
