Robert Eugene Pearson, Sr.

Robert Eugene Pearson Sr., 89, of Dallas Center passed away on Sunday November 20, 2016. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at McCalley Funeral Home in Adel with burial at Brethren Cemetery near Dallas Center. Family will greet friends from 12:30 pm Wednesday until service time. Robert was born in Dallas Center, IA to Arthur and Data Pearson on June 24, 1927. He was born on the farm where he lived for 89 years which is a Century Farm. He went to school in Waukee. Robert married Marilyn Rae Williams on June 27, 1948 in Nashua, IA at The Little Brown Church. He farmed until he started Pearson Construction with his sons Robert Jr. and Dennis and retired at the age of 82. Robert served in the United States Army in Korea. He enjoyed playing cards and fishing with his family and also enjoyed building and flying model airplanes with his friends Luke and Charles, and his grandson Kyle.. Robert was preceded in death by his parents Arthur and Data, daughter Debbie, grandson Kyle Custer, and sister Betty Rynearson. Robert is survived by his loving wife of 68 years Marilyn; children Robert Jr. (Laurie), Dennis (Donna), and Rena (Kevin) Custer; grandchildren Jeff, Dana, Denise, Robert III (Amy), Ryan (Nancy), and Ashley (Randy) and 5 great-grandchildren.
