Robert Lee Carson

January 5, 1942 — November 24, 2022

Robert (Bob) Carson passed away Thanksgiving morning, November 24th, 2022 after suffering a stroke. Bob was just shy of 81 years of age when he passed as he was born to Harmon & Mary Carson on January 5th, 1942 in Fort Scott, Kansas.

Bob married Carol Joiner on October 16th, 1971 with each bringing 3 children to the union. They then had one child together making it a full house with 7 children.

Bob had a variety of careers over the years and, although he retired from Adel Brick & Tile, he went on to work in his most favorite job of all of them which was McDonalds in Stuart, Iowa. He took great pride in his job to keep things clean, but what made it his favorite was the interaction with the customers. Bob was a very social person and loved to make people laugh. He didn’t care how goofy he had to be, there wasn’t going to be a child leaving his presence without a smile or a giggle.

Bob is survived by 5 of his 7 children, Cora (Don) Pruitt of Earlham, DeWayne (Endisa) Carson of Des Moines, Laura (Leonard) Belew of Redfield, Tom Grabill of Adel, Linda (Larry) Alexander of Redfield; 18 Grandchildren; 37 Great-Grandchildren; and 2 Great-Great-Grandchildren; 2 brothers, Bill Carson and Joe Carson; along with many, many nieces and nephews.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Harmon and Mary Carson; wife, Carol Carson; 2 of his children, Jerry Dean Grabill and Kimberly Sue Carson; Daughter-in-law, Missy Grabill; his 3 sisters, Laura Hayden, Beulah Payne, Hazel Philpott; and 2 brothers, James Carson and Lewis Carson.
