Roger Meserve

Roger Ralph Meserve, 67 of Urbandale passed away on February 14, 2021 peacefully in his home. Roger was born in Saco, Maine on April 14, 1953. He was a graduate of Thornton Academy in 1972. Roger went on to become an over the road truck driver anywhere from Maine to Iowa. During his time as a driver, Roger met many life-long friends. He enjoyed connecting with them years later online. Most recently, Roger was a loader for Martin Marietta at the West Des Moines field yard. Roger loved meeting all the truckers that would come into get loaded. He was known to strike a conversation with anyone he met! Iowa is where he met Sandy Coffin of Adel. They were married for over 20 years and had one child together, Mandi (Brett) O’Loughlin of Story City. Roger was blessed with two grandsons, Cale and Tate, who he loved more than anything. He shared his love for football, trucks, and motorcycles with both boys. He looked forward to introducing them to camping, something he truly enjoyed. Survived by his daughter, Mandi (Brett) O’Loughlin of Story City, two grandsons, Cale (6), Tate (2). Roger’s wishes were to be cremated and spread out in the ocean on the coast of Maine. His daughter will be making a special trip to Maine to carry out those wishes. At this time, there will be no formal visitation or funeral.
