Ronald H. Broesder, 70 of Urbandale, IA passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at Urbandale Health Care Center where he had resided since September 2009. Ron, the son of Inez & Henry Broesder, was born June 13, 1941 in Boyden, Iowa. He graduated from Boyden High School with the Class of 1958. Over the years Ron had various jobs, to which he gave a fairs day work, and could do any job he was responsible for. He worked at an egg factory; sold Fuller Brush; and was a creamery route driver. He was a manager for Packer’s Choice Pigs, McLander Trailer Mfg., and Plains Processing. He later owned West Side Tavern, Osceola Muffler Shop, and a landscaping business. Ron loved to talk about many of his fun life experiences that he shared with his family and friends. His sense of humor, not knowing a stranger and giving away more than he kept whether it was love, kindness, money or a good laugh was one his many rewards in life. His love of horses, baseball, softball, bowling, shooting pool, boating, hunting and a good card game yielded him many friends over the years. He pitched for men’s fast pitch softball many years and was considered “one of the best around”. He was preceded in death by his parents; a baby sister Beverly; and just last week his sister, Marlys Matthiessen, Adrian, MN. He is survived by his three children, Dawn Broesder of Sibley,IA; Randee Broesder of Des Moines; and Misty Clark (Greg Weinschenk) of Urbandale; his former wife, Connie Broesder (Chris K.), of Urbandale; 5 grandchildren, Mindi Terrell, Megan Prins, Haylea Allen, Cassy Clark, Brittany Clark; 5 great grandchildren, Matthew, Maycee, Ryan, Abby, Cyla; and his grand dog, Missy.
