Ronald “Jake” Jacobs, 52, passed away Friday evening, January 21, 2011, at his home in St. Charles. Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm., Wednesday, January 26th at Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare in Winterset. A visitation will be held from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 25th at Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Burial will be in the St. Charles Cemetery. Ronald “Jake”, the youngest son born to Walter Eugene and Dorothy Janice (Hulbert) Jacobs, was born April 11, 1958 in Des Moines, Iowa. Growing up in St. Charles he enjoyed riding his bike and going camping with his family. He graduated from Interstate 35 High School in Truro in 1976. Shortly thereafter he met, Lori Vinson, and they were married October 8, 1977, in Des Moines. To this union were born two sons, Bryan and Brad. They made their home in St. Charles. Jake worked for over 20 years with Pepsi-Cola General Bottlers as a mechanic. Later he was self-employed selling Matco Tools, and most recently he worked in the maintenance department at Indianola Good Samaritan Center. Jake loved fishing and boating. He also enjoyed hunting, hanging out with his wife and boys, playing with the grandchildren, and his dog, Bo-Bo. He is survived by his wife, Lori of St. Charles; his two sons, Bryan of Winterset, and Brad (wife, Skye) of St. Charles; three grandchildren, Trenton, Cayden, and Chryslin; his father, Walter, of Norwalk; two brothers, Marty (wife, Evelyn) of Gowrie, and Gayle (wife, Barb) of Winterset; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews; and many friends. Jake was preceded in death by his mother, D. Janice in 2001.
