Ronald Stump

Ronald "Ron" Joseph Stump, 67, of Adel, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center surrounded by family. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, May 26 from 10am - 12pm at the United Methodist Church 115 S. 10th Street in Adel. A private family burial will take place at a later date. Ron was born October 11, 1950 in Des Moines, Iowa to Joseph and Margaret (Nash) Stump. He graduated from Adel-DeSoto High School in 1969 then attended and graduated from Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville with a degree in Industrial Arts and worked at DeZurik in Sartell, Minnesota as a Manufacturing Engineer for many years before returning to Iowa for a career in professional job placements. He was a very active member in the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME) and held multiple offices including president. He was united in marriage to Linda Richardson on May 29, 1976. They were blessed with three sons; Curtis, Matthew, and Kyle. Ron is survived by his three sons, Curtis (Presha) Stump, Matthew Stump, and Kyle (Kristen) Stump; five grandchildren: Avery, Hadlee, Benjamin, Emma, and Scarlet. Ron enjoyed watching college football, especially his beloved Iowa Hawkeyes, the family cabin in Minnesota, fishing, camping, boating, and golfing. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Margaret; an infant sister, Peggy Jo; and an uncle, Danny Nash.
