Rosa "Mamaocha" Vasquez, age 65 of Perry, passed away on Thursday, July 22, 2021 at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines IA. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 26, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Fuente De Vida in Perry. Visitation will be on Sunday, July 25, 2021, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Carris Family Funeral Home & Cremation Care in Perry. Burial will be in the Violet Hill Cemetery at Perry. Rosa "Mamaocha" Elvira Vasquez was born on July 14, 1956, at Guatemala City, Zacapa to Leocadio Vasquez and Milagro Vasquez Escobar. She attended school at in Guatemala. She worked at Tyson Fresh Meats for 12 years and was an in-home childcare provider for 8 years. She was a member of the Fuente De Vida. She loved to spend time with her grandchildren. In death she rejoins her parents Locadio and Milagro, a daughter, Concepcion Abigail Martinez, 2 great grandchildren, and 2 brothers. Left to cherish Mamaochas memory are her children, Alex Martinez, Yvone Martinez, Maria Martinez, and Amner Martinez, 15 grandchildren, 1 grandchild, 3 brothers and, 1 sister.
