Rose Maurine Ozbun, daughter of Lloyd Everett Hoskins and Ruth Elaine Dudley Hoskins was born April 5, 1932 in Jefferson, Iowa, and died January 8, 2008 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa, at the age of 75 Years, 9 Months, and 3 Days. Rose attended school in Paton. She married Dwight Ozbun on February 26, 1950. They made their home in several places around Churdan and Paton including the Ozbun family farm from 1956-1972 and eventually moved to Perry in 1972. Rose was an active farm wife. She later worked as a Dietician for Oscar Mayer and at the Rowley Masonic Home, where she retired after 18 years of service. Rose was an avid gardener and was known for her African Violets. She also liked to crochet, fish, and travel. Rose's family was very important to her, attending all of the grandkids, and great-grandkids events, and never missing any birthdays. She was a member of the Eastern Star since 1962, holding the offices of Worthy Matron, Conductress, and Ruth. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Ralph Hoskins. Rose is survived by her husband, Dwight, Perry, Iowa; daughters, Becky (Ron) Glade, Guthrie Center, Iowa, and Debby (Frank) Allen, Perry, Iowa; sons, Raymond (Linda Mendoza), State Center, Iowa, and Russ (Bev Rote), Perry, Iowa; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters, Elaine (Harold) Parker, Manly, Iowa, Myrna ( Joel) Heifner, Pleasant Hill, IA, Lois (Wayne) Galpin, Glenpool, Oklahoma, and Betty Ann Elmore, Gowrie, Iowa; brother, Frank (Claudia) Hoskins, Storm Lake, Iowa; sister-in-law, Rhea Hoskins, Jefferson, Iowa; aunt, Erma Mallett, Evansdale, Iowa; other relatives and friends.
