A Mass of Christian Burial for Ruben Naranjo was held 7:00 p.m. Friday, February 8, 2013 at the St. Patrick Catholic Church in Perry. A Prayer Service was 7:00 p.m. Thursday, February 7, 2013 at Hastings Funeral Home in Perry. Officiating the service was Father David Polich. Casket Bearers were: Jorge Ortiz, Gerardo Ortiz, Jose Crideron, Ignscio Calderon, Jose Malina, Guadalupe Hacker, Ruben Gonzales, Jorge Gonzales and Juan Arceo. Organist was Jan Pattee. Following the service was a luncheon at the St. Patrick Gym. Ruben Naranjo son of Florencio Naranjo and Rebeca Olmedo Naranjo was born March 8, 1957 in El Grullo Jalisco, Mexico and died February 4, 2013 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston, Iowa. He was 55. Ruben came to the United States when he was growing up. In August of 1993 he moved to Perry where he worked on the kill line at IBP, and then transitioned to Tyson for 20 years. On August 9, 1995 Ruben and Cinthia O. Navarrete were united in marriage. They had three beautiful girls Cinthia, Rebecca and Lilian. Ruben enjoyed playing soccer, fishing, going to the lake and barbecuing. He was a member of the St. Patrick Catholic Church. On December 1, 2012 Ruben and Cinthia renewed their wedding vows at St. Patrick Catholic Church. Ruben is preceded in death by his parents Florencio and Rebeca Naranjo. He is survived by his wife Cinthia Naranjo of Perry; daughters Cinthia, Rebecca and Lilian Naranjo all of Perry; special friends Tom and Marilyn Free; dogs Camilo and Tomy; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends. www.hastingsfh.com
