Ruby I. Cornelison

Ruby I. Cornelison, 77, of Lenox, died Monday, October 11, 2021 at Lenox Care Center in Lenox. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM, Friday, October 15, 2021, at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home Winterset Chapel. Family will greet friends from 1 to 3 PM on Friday at the funeral home. She will be interred in the Greenlawn Cemetery in Afton at a later date. Memorials may be directed to her family for a future designation. Ruby Irene was born on December 10, 1943 in Osceola, Iowa to Doc and Maymie (Petersohn) Bailey. She grew up in the Thayer area and was a graduate of East Union High School. She was married on March 28, 1964 in Belton, Missouri, to Ronald Cornelison. Ron was in the US Air Force, so they lived in various places throughout his career. They eventually settled in Lorimor, Iowa where they lived for several years. She had been a member of the South Side Boosters in Creston and played in their kitchen band. Ruby is survived by her daughter, Renea (Tim) Beaty; son, Randy (Lisa) Cornelison; brothers, Bill (Marge) Bailey and Gary Bailey; sister, Phyllis Clark; grandchildren, Shane (Kelsey) Beaty, Travis Beaty, Douglas Cornelison, and Michael Cornelison; and great grandchildren, Bryson Cornelison, Cyprin Slight, Gydeon Slight, Zyplyn Slight, Owen Beaty, and Emelia Beaty. She was preceded in death by her parents, Doc and Maymie (Petersohn) Bailey; husband, Ronald Cornelison; brothers, Robert Bailey and Richard Bailey; and sister, Betty Eckardt.
