Russell Lawrence Schutte

Russell Lawrence Schutte 60, of Adel, Iowa passed away on Friday, December 29th 2023 after a long battle with Parkinsons Disease. His family was by his side.

Russ grew up in Belle Plaine, Iowa. After graduating from Belle Plaine High School, he went on to attend Ellsworth Community College in Iowa Falls.

Russ loved a good round of golf with friends and enjoyed watching football in his "man cave" at Sun Valley Lake. His favorite place to vacation was Marco Island, Florida. He would often say "My favorite day is taking the boat to Keewadin", where he was often joined by family and friends.

Russ worked for Younkers Card Services and Access Financial before joining the Wells Fargo team, where he spent the last 25 years. His coworkers were a big part of his life and often referred to him as "A great Mentor".

He is survived by his wife of 27 years Jody, daughters Ashley (Brad) Wurster and Sidney (Luke) Anderson and grandchildren Mason, Easton, Reagan, Carson and Hensley, siblings Judy, Cathy, and Betty.

Russ will be joining his Mother Geneva Schutte and his baby brother Kenneth.

Family will greet friends from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Tuesday, January 2, at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home – Adel Chapel.

A private burial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to EveryStep Hospice.
