Rustin (Rusty) Wade Tuttle, of Winterset, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, September 20, 2020. He was 58 years young. Rusty was born on July 19, 1962 in Des Moines, Iowa, the son of Bob and Glenda Tuttle. His parents raised him to work hard and love even harder. During his four years at Winterset High School, he became an impressive artist and wrestler. He graduated in 1980. Rut, as he was affectionately known by many, began his lifelong career as a motorcycle mechanic in 1982. Over the course of his impressive 37-year career at Country Cycle, he became a master of his craft. Many would argue that he was the best. Country Cycle was Rusty’s second home and his co-workers were his second family. Rusty married his high school sweetheart, Theresa Scott, in 1983. Their marriage lasted 20 years, and together they raised three wonderful children, Jesse, Ginna, and Riley. Despite divorce, they continued to co-parent until the end. In 2009, Rusty met Shannon, the love of his life. Makenzie (aka, Noodle) and her mom, Shannon, made him feel complete. In 2010, Rusty and Shannon’s miracle daughter, Wiloh Taylan Tuttle, entered our world. She was the missing piece and she truly completed him. Rusty and Shannon shared a beautiful, love-filled wedding on May 25, 2018 in front of numerous family and friends. Rusty is survived by his father, Robert Raymond (Bob) Tuttle, Sr.; his wife, Shannon Tuttle; his children, Jesse (Jamie), Ginna (Chad), Riley (Emily), Makenzie (Gannon); and Wiloh; brothers, Les (Angie) Wiles, Mike (Ruth) Wiles, and Dusty (Michelle) Tuttle; sisters, Christy (Keith) Staples and Lacey Jo (Matt) Burgan; grandkids, Savannah, Giavanna, and Calvin Jacob; and his best friend, Chris K. He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Glenda Lee Tuttle; his sister, Julia Ann Bardwell; his brother, Steven Richard; paternal grandmother, Margaret Guion Tuttle; maternal grandparents, John and Eula Weaver; nephew, Jeremy Wade Snyder; and niece, Shiloh Wynn Wiles. Rusty loved his family first and foremost. He also loved his friends, pets and co-workers like family. He loved any good music, especially Pink Floyd, and he never failed to share his love with everyone he met. He was truly a legend among men who was loved by many, will forever be missed and never forgotten. During his last years, Bob, the yellow lab, was Rusty’s best friend and biggest baby. Other than work, they went just about everywhere together. Their last ride was no exception. Rusty and Bob passed from this life to the next, side by side.
