Ruth Anne Laughridge

Ruth Laughridge, 71, of Van Meter, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on March 3, 2023 at the MercyOne Hospice House in Johnston.

Ruth was born on April 28, 1951 to Chester and Peggy (Roggendorf) Lawman in Fort Dodge, Iowa. She graduated from Adel High School in 1969 and later married Larry Laughridge in Adel, Iowa on July 12, 1986. Ruth worked at Preferred Risk that was later called GuideOne Insurance for 48 years as a business analyst.

Ruth enjoyed the outdoors, camping and doing various landscaping and yard chores. She liked working in her flower beds and attending Chicago and Iowa Cubs baseball games in the summer. When not able to be outdoors, she enjoyed cross stitching.

Ruth is survived by her husband, Larry; two sons, Travis (Jess) and Daniel (Katie); three grandchildren, Zaiden, Theo, and Jack; along with many siblings, nieces, nephews and extended family.

A private family graveside service will be held at a later date in the Van Meter Cemetery. Friends and family will be invited to a celebration of life to be held at a later date to be determined. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made out to the Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance and/or to the MercyOne Hospice House in Johnston for the wonderful care provided to Ruth.
