Ruth Lampe, 105, of Winterset passed away Thursday, August 30, 2018, at West Bridge Care & Rehab in Winterset. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 8, at Ochiltree Funeral Service in Winterset. A visitation with family present will be held one hour prior, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Memorials may be directed to the Madison County Elderly Services and online condolence can be left at ochiltree.com Ruth Angeline Lampe, daughter of William and Lulu (Bowers) Stalder, was born January 14, 1913, in rural Adams County, Iowa. She attended schools in Adams County. Ruth was united in marriage with Gharald “Bud” Lampe on March 10, 1933, in Maryville, MO. Bud passed away January 4, 1990. Ruth was a member of the Van Meter United Methodist Church. She was very dedicated to the Madison County Meal Site and volunteered for the Madison County Elderly Services for over 20 years. Ruth was a dedicated farmwife and mother who always stayed busy on the farm. She was a talented gardener, who canned her produce and enjoyed sewing, playing cards and traveling in her free time. Most of all, Ruth cherished the time spent with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren. Ruth is survived by her son, Gary Lampe of Johnston; three grandchildren, Jeff Lampe, Mike (Tanyia) Brown and Dave Brown; five great grandchildren; seven great great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Lulu Stalder; her husband, Gharald “Bud” Lampe; three brothers; three sisters; and a daughter-in-law, Judy Lampe.
