Sadie Alberta Christensen

Sadie Alberta Christensen, daughter of Miller David Storm and Eva Mable Kinder Storm was born August 15, 1911 near Woodward, Iowa in Dallas County and died September 25, 2007 at the Dallas County Hospital in Perry, Iowa at the age of 96 years, 1 month and 10 days. Alberta, lovingly known as "Babe" by many, attended the Bouton and Gardner schools. While working at the Woodward State Hospital School she met Christian Emil Christensen and they were later married June 22, 2934 at Dallas Center, Iowa. They lived in the Bouton and Woodward State Hospital School for many years and had helped her husband on their farm. They moved into Woodward to make their home and after his death she lived for a short time in an apartment. Alberta moved into Perry and later lived in the Spring Valley Community for 3 years. She had loved living in her present home on Eastern Ave for the past year. Alberta was a lifetime member of the Eastern Star and had enjoyed her membership in the Woodward Christian Church. She really enjoyed fishing, but also enjooyed canning, cooking, gardening, and dancing. Alberta loved Polka and Big Band music. She was a charter member of Lake Robbins, having been there when it opened. Alberta volunteered in the Foster Grandparent Program in any way she could. Alberta was preceded in deathy by her parents; brother Joseph Elmer David Storm, and sister Thelma Elma Storm Whitcher. She will be lovingly remembered by her nieced Lou Ann Whitcher and great nieced and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
