Sammy “Moob” Kasap was taken too soon on October 10, 2021; but the life he led in 19 short years was incredible. Sam lit up the world with his infectious smile and laughter. He was rarely serious and never shut up, but he loved God, his family, his country, and his friends. Sam loved anything that drove fast, hunting, fishing…everything outdoors, unless it was too hot, then Sam loved the indoors. Sam was a big boy—6’ 1” and, as he would tell you, “about 3 bills!” He gave the best hugs in the world and was always ready for a dance party! Sam was the best of us, he would do anything for anyone, give the shirt off his back or lend a hand. He gave until the very end, throwing some cash in the plate at church an hour before the accident and then deciding to have tissue taken to donate to help others, even in death. Visitation will be held from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 14, 2021 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Winterset, with a Rosary service beginning at 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will follow, beginning at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be held at the Saint Patrick’s Irish Settlement Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Lifecare Pregnancy Resources in Stuart. www.iowalcclinic.org. There is a “donate online” link at the bottom of the page. Sam leaves behind his Father and Mother, Pete and Debi Kasap of Earlham, and his 6 siblings: Alexandrea (Tyler) Perry, George Kasap, Emma Kasap, Maximilian Kasap, Elijah (Sara) Kasap, and Clare Kasap. Though the hole he leaves behind will never be filled; Sam would want us to celebrate his life, not mourn his death. His family appreciates all of the thoughts and prayers, and we know Sammy is smiling down on us all.
