Sandra S. Foreman, 78, of Grimes, IA, entered her heavenly home on Friday, August 17, 2018, at Mercy Hospice-Johnston, Johnston, IA. She was born June 7, 1940, in Pipestone, Minnesota, to Louis A. and Pearl E. (Wittfoth) Buffington, and was baptized two days later, on June 9, in Pipestone. She was confirmed on May 23, 1954, at Our Saviour Lutheran Church in Pipestone, and then on May 27, 1958, graduated from Pipestone High School. She received her AA Degree from Concordia College, St. Paul, MN, on June 3, 1960, and did further study at Concordia Teachers College, River Forrest, IL. Sandra married Curtis L. Foreman, of Grand Haven, MI, on August 11, 1962, at Our Saviour Lutheran Church, Pipestone, MN, and recently celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary. Their marriage was blessed with five children, Lisa A. VanDeWalker of Cannon Falls, MN, Carol M. Foreman of Des Moines, IA, Timothy J. Foreman of Grimes, IA, Valerie R. Hoefle of Ankeny, IA, and Sara E. Kynion of Grimes, IA, 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Sandra had a strong Christian faith and sought to live her life to the glory and honor of her Savior, Jesus Christ. Her Christian life was a powerful example to her family and to all who knew her. She was an encourager of others and reflected a joyful, loving, positive spirit even in difficult times. She was a supportive, faithful wife, a caring, nurturing mother and grandmother to her children and grandchildren. In her early married years Sandra taught in Lutheran Parochial Schools, and then after her children grew up she developed expertise as a floral arranger. For several years she owned Sandy's Gifts and Silk Flowers in Bertha, MN. Sandra had many hobbies and interests. They included Bible study, cooking, baking, craft work, flower gardening, reading, traveling, camping and hiking. In addition to her husband, children and grandchildren, she is survived by two brothers, Dave (Bev) of Perham, MN,, and James (Karen) of Wahpeton, ND, by a daughter-in-law, Jane Foreman, and a son-in-law, Jeffrey Kynion, and by many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was proceeded in death by her parents, grandparents, and son-in-law, Dennis Hoefle. Sandy will be greatly missed by her family and by all who knew her, all of whom look forward to being united with her in the eternal, heavenly mansions. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials can be given to "The Rev. Curtis and Sandra Foreman Scholarship Fund" which benefits church worker students of Concordia University, St. Paul, MN, and made payable to "inFaith Community Foundation."
