Sandra Lee Ribble Harsha, 75, died on December 25, 2020 at Methodist West Hospital in West Des Moines. She was born in New London, Connecticut on May 27, 1945 to Wayne Ribble and Glady Robbins (Ribble). Sandra graduated from Glenbard West in Glen Ellyn, Illinois is 1964. She also graduated from Simpson College in 1968, Iowa State University in 1980, and Drake University in 1982. She held a Master's Degree in Elementary Teaching and Counseling. She used this to teach children at Greenwood Elementary School for 32 years. She retired from teaching in the Des Moines Public School System in 2002. One of her greatest joys was to watch her students grow as they developed a love for learning. After retirement, Sandra continued teaching as a substitute teacher at St. Theresa's and St. Pius X. Sandra married the love of her life, David G. Harsha, on March 21, 1979 and added two children to her life. Bryan Harsha (Cynthia) and Yvette Harsha (Bob LaFratte). Besides her family, Sandra's other great joy was dancing. Together, David and Sandra taught dancing to many people in the Des Moines area for almost 25 years. You could always find them holding each other on the dance floor. Sandra was preceded in death by her parents Wayne (Al) Ribble and Gladys (Mag) Ribble. She is survived by her husband David, her two children, Bryan and Yvette, her two brothers, Dan Ribble (Lynn) and Kevin Ribble (Donna) and her sister-in-law, Mary Stewart (Bi1l) and her many nieces and nephews. A celebration of life will be at a later date.
