Sandra Jean Moore

Sandra Jean Moore, daughter of Robert Wayne Moore and Martha Louise Fry Moore, was born December 14, 1943 in Jefferson, Iowa. Her family lived in California while her father was stationed there. The family then moved back to Iowa where she lived in Jefferson and Guthrie Center growing up. She graduated from Guthrie Center High School in 1962. She married Eldon Dean Eastman on April 4, 1962 in Guthrie Center. They were blessed with four daughters: Denise, Kerri, Sherri, and Kimberly. The family made their home in Panora, Iowa. The couple later divorced. Sandra moved to Craig, Colorado a few years after the divorce and worked for a senior living home where she delivered Meals on Wheels and drove the transportation bus. She later moved back to Iowa and was a secretary for American Family Insurance in Des Moines and after retiring worked part-time serving congregate meals in Perry. She enjoyed bowling, crafts, sewing, reading, and collecting angels. Sandra was a member of the Dawson United Methodist Church. She died May 8, 2023 at Mercy West Lakes Hospital in West Des Moines, Iowa. Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, granddaughter Jessica Dixon, and brother Michael Moore. Sandra is survived by her four daughters: Denise Heinz (Joel) of Dawson, IA, Kerri Heinz (Orlin) of Perry, IA, Sherri Eddy (Brad) of Springfield, MO, and Kimberly Dixon of Corpus Christi, TX; nine grandchildren: Jacob Heinz (Stacey), Matthew Heinz (Alecia), Michael Heinz, Melody Dittmer (Tyler), Joshua Heinz (Lacey), Ashley Hoffman, Megan Morano (Val), Kyle Sharp, and Danielle Castro (Jose); sixteen great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters: Pat Stowell of Boone, IA, Dennis Moore of Guthrie Center, IA, Debbie Kiefer of Guthrie Center, IA, Timothy Keller (Michelle) of Martha, KY, Janina Medina (James) of Louisville, CO, Beverli Ellis (Bob) of Merrill, WI, Alan Wetzel (Deb) of Atlantic, IA, Darwin Wetzel (Sheri) of Guthrie Center, IA, and Carolyn Bond (Gary) of Adair, IA; several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Visitation was held Monday, May 15, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. with family present from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. at Hastings Funeral Home in Jefferson. Funeral Services were held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 16, 2023 also at the funeral home.
