Sandra Kay Gliem

Hastings Funeral Home in PERRY is in charge of arrangements for Sandra Kay Gliem, 58, of Perry. Sandra died Wednesday, March 18, 2020 at Mercy West Lakes, West Des Moines. Graveside Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 10, 2020 at the Violet Hill Cemetery in Perry. Sandra will be buried with her father Gerald Francis Gliem. Sandra Kay Gliem was born April 1, 1961 at the Greene County Hospital in Jefferson, Iowa. The family moved from Jefferson to Perry in 1964. She attended school in Perry, graduating in 1979. Sandy then went to A.I.B in Des Moines where she got degrees in Associate of Business, Exsertive Secretary/ Medical Major, and Accounting. She was a Certified Pharmacy Tech. Sandy worked for Drug Mart and Lutheran Social Services before health conditions stopped her from working. She had her apartment in Perry. Sandy became ill and passed away at Mercy West in Des Moines on March 18, 2020. She enjoyed cross-stitching, stamping up, making jewelry and Christmas ornaments. Sandy was preceded in death by her father Jerry Gliem, her grandparents and many others. She is survived by her mother Janet Gliem of Perry, sister Debra Betz and her husband Al of Churdan, brother Rick Gliem and his wife Vickie of Jefferson, uncle Joe Gliem and his wife Nancy of Jefferson, aunt Susan Stone and her husband Tom of Perry, aunt Judy Stiles of Madrid, nieces, nephews, cousins, her boyfriend of 2 years Jeff Vlack and friend Mary of Des Moines, her very good friend Bev Hegstrom and family, many more friends and relatives.
