Sandra Lee Gordon

Hastings Funeral Home in Perry is in charge of arrangements for Sandra Lee Gordon, 74, of Beaverdale, Iowa and formerly of Boone. Sandra died March 14, 2022 at Edencrest at Beaverdale. Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Thursday, March 17, 2022 with family present from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. at Hastings Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 18, 2022 also at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery in Cedar Rapids, Iowa following the funeral service. Sandra Lee Gordon, daughter of Edward Lee Hamman and Arlene Lorraine Mastin Hamman, was born June 16, 1947 in Perry, Iowa. She graduated from Perry High School in 1965, then went on to college at the Institute of Medical Technique in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Sandra was united in marriage to Danny Gordon on May 17, 1969 and they were blessed with two children, Martin and Sharon. She worked as a lab tech for the Dallas County Hospital in Perry for many years. Sandra enjoyed sewing, quilting, coloring on her iPad, and watching movies on the Hallmark channel. After she moved to Boone, Iowa Sandra would go on quilting retreats. Sandy worked at Alliant Energy or its predecessors (Iowa Electric, IES, Alliant) since 1978 and worked for 35 years, retiring at the end of 2013. Sandy worked in Jefferson, Boone, Ames, and Perry. She held positions from Meter Reading, Administrative, to Field Engineering Construction Associate. Sandra's greatest joy was being a grandma. She passed away on March 14, 2022 at Edencrest at Beaverdale in Des Moines, Iowa. She is preceded in death by her parents Edward and Arlene. Sandra's memory will always be in the hearts of her son Martin Gordon of Wichita, Kansas; her daughter Sharon James (Jimmy) of Waukee; her three grandchildren, Samantha James of Kansas City, Missouri, Natalie James and Jackson James both of Waukee; her uncle Jerry Hamman (Marilyn) of Manchester, IA; special cousins; other relatives, and friends.
