Sandy Wenck of Winterset, died Monday, November 17, 2014. She was 64 years old. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, November 20, 2014 at the Winterset Community Church. A visitation will be held from 2 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, November 19th at Ochiltree Funeral Service, in Winterset, where family will be present to receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in the Winterset Cemetery and memorials may be directed to the Winterset Community Church and the Animal Rescue League. Online condolences may be left for the family at ochiltree.com Sandy Lynn LeCocq was born on December 25, 1949 in Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of Ward and Betty (Severns) LeCocq. She grew up in Winterset and graduated from Winterset High School in 1968. Her marriage to Lanny L. Wenck took place on July 4, 1993 on their farm south of Winterset where they have made their home ever since. Sandy was a homemaker raising her children and was also active in helping Lanny at Lanny’s Auto in Winterset. She was also very proud of their farm and spent many hours maintaining the property mowing and tending flower gardens. Sandy is survived by her husband, Lanny Wenck of Winterset; four children, Scott Gardner (Jennifer) of Des Moines, Alexis Conant (Billy) of Waukee, Ashley Temple of Grimes and R. J. Wenck (Sarah) of Des Moines; three step-children, Krissy McDonald (John) of Winterset, Brenda Holt (Phil) of Winterset, and Tony Wenck (Sara) of Booneville; a brother, Larry LeCocq (Judy) of Hawkins, Texas and a sister, Shirley Ridley (Richard) of Oklahoma; 12 grandchildren (and 2 on the way). She was preceded in death by her parents.
