Sanford Coe

Sanford Ray Coe Jr., age 85, of Des Moines, was born January 29,1939, in Guthrie County, Iowa, and went home to be with his Lord on September 20, 2024.

Sanford was a lifelong member of Central Community Free Methodist Church. After serving his country in the US Army, he spent many years working at Younkers until they closed. After that, he spent many years working at Fazoli’s until his retirement. He cherished his church family, and made many friends over the years who will miss him greatly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sanford Ray Coe of Guthrie County, Iowa, and Nellie Winifred Coe of Des Moines, Iowa; and two brothers, Robert Edward Coe of Montreal, Quebec, Canada and Gilbert Lisle Coe of Guthrie County, Iowa.

He is survived by four nieces, one nephew, and several cousins.

There will a Graveside service at Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Adel on Tuesday, October 15, at 2:00 pm.
