Sarah Alice Wight

Sarah Alice Wight, daughter of Wilson Colbert and Jenny Hutton Colbert was born March 8, 1911 in Audubon, Iowa,and died November 26, 2007 at the Greene County Medical Center in Jefferson, Iowa at the age of 96 years, 8 months and 18 days. Sarah was united in marriage with Guy Lester Wight on March 18, 1929 in Boone County, Iowa. They were parents of three daughters, Stella, Opal, and Jean. Sarah had worked in Scranton at the Hotel. She later worked at Truck haven, cleaned houses for others, and cared for her grandchildren. Sarah's main focus was her family and she especially enjoyed her grandchildren's activities and heryoung grandchildren. She was known for her fried chicken which she prepared for her family. Sarah enjoyed music, watching old movies on Television, and loveh "Hee Haw". She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; two brothers, Gale and Willard Colbert and three sisters, Nettie Bradford, Mandy Hlnore, and Fern Skarin; daughters, Stella Johns, Opal Wisecup, and Jean Whipple; and granddaughters, Cindy and Joy. Sarah is survived by her grandchildren, Les, Althea, mark, Carla, and Becky, Bobby and Lori, Robin, Terri, Ronnie, and Doug. She is also survived by other relatives and friends.
